The summer holidays are here so this walk is designed with the kids in mind! Led by Jess, a qualified primary teacher and Hill and Moorland Leader, this walk is a 3-mile loop from Reeth suitable for parents/carers with primary aged children. Older siblings are of course welcome too!
We will be going at kids’ pace, taking in everything there is to explore as we go. The kids will be provided with a map if they want one; taught how to orientate it and to recognise some of the symbols on it.
From Reeth, we will follow public rights of way to Healaugh. There will be things to spot and challenges to complete as we travel! At Healaugh we will cross the stepping stones (water levels permitting) and walk back along the other side of the Swale to the swing bridge. Weather permitting we’ll stop here for a bit of picnicking and stone skimming before returning to Reeth (probably via the play park). Timings are a guide; if the weather is nice we might stay longer! I’ll be heading for an ice cream after and you are welcome to join me if you wish.
Please note, due to my insurance arrangements, children can only attend with their legal parent or guardian. Adults pay £15 and can bring up to two children for free. Please contact me if you need to bring more than two children.
