Everyone involved with the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association (ORBTA) is thrilled that Marcia McLuckie has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours.
Marcia is the current Vice-chair and former Chair of ORBTA. She has become a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to the environment and to the community in Richmond.
In 2018, Marcia prepared the town’s submission for the Great British High Street Awards which led to Richmond being shortlisted in the champion high street category.
She was a key figure in Richmond’s entry to the 2019 Yorkshire in Bloom Awards where a silver gilt award was achieved and in 2021, Marcia was a leading figure in the town’s 950th anniversary celebrations.
Marcia said she “totally, totally shocked” when she was told she had been recognised in the King’s Honours.
“I feel really privileged to have this kind of recognition and very grateful to all the people who have helped and supported what we’ve done in the town.”
